Waterbury, CT Donald J. Casini, age:64, of Frost Rd, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Waterbury Hospital.
Mr. Casini was born in Derby, CT, May 15, 1947 a son of the late Neil P. and Erma (Mengacci) Casini. Don lived most of his life in Naugatuck and graduated from Naugatuck High School. He was a United States Air Force Vietnam War Veteran and had lived in Waterbury for the past 7 years after having lived in Florida for 18 years. Don was an accomplished chef and was the former owner of Casini's Restaurant at the Hop Brook Golf Course in Naugatuck and also Sala da Pranzo Catering in Waterbury.
Don is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Brian and Lori Casini and his son Sean Casini all of Waterbury, his sister Linda Casini of N.C. and his beloved grandsons Brennon, Everett, Evan, Logan, Jonah and Coleson Casini.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours.
