WATERBURY - Donald G. Donahue Sr, age 93 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 8, 2020 with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Joan (Bristol) Donahue.
Don was born on June 3, 1927 in Waterbury the son of the late John and Mary (Smith) Donahue. He was educated in local schools, graduated from Crosby High School and worked for many years as an eyelet toolmaker at Line Novelty in Wolcott. Don proudly served our nation in the U.S. Navy. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, there was nothing more important to Don than his family and he looked forward to having the Sunday dinner with all of them each and every Sunday. He was a hard worker and had to be to support 7 children. Don also coached Little League, enjoyed bowling in the Manufacturers League and was an avid sports fan especially supporting the UCONN Huskies, Men and Women's basketball. He also looked forward to many trips to the casino with his wife and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor Don's memory and legacy are his children; Donald Jr and his wife, Juliette of Conway SC, James and his wife, Robin of Oakville, Kenneth and his wife, Maureen of Watertown, Kevin and his wife, Kim of Camden NY, Eileen Loranger and her husband, Roland of Bristol and Kathleen Langdo of Waterbury, He also leaves 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Richard, son-in-law, Philip Langdo and grandson, James.
Funeral Services for Mr. Donahue will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary Mother of Church Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705 has been honored to assist the Donahue family during this difficult time.
