TORRINGTON -Donald "Patrick" Fleming age 82, of Torrington CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21st 2020 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Ella Fleming.

Donald was born April 10th 1938 in New Rochelle, NY the son of the late John P. and Dorothy E. (Cunningham) Fleming. Don grew up in the Fairfield, CT area where he attended local schools and proudly served his country with the US Army Reserves during the Vietnam War Era. Donald was an avid car enthusiast and spent most his career as an automotive insurance adjuster. He loved older American made cars and knew them inside and out. He was a great painter on canvas and in later years cars were his favorite to paint. He also enjoyed bowling and traveling especially with his wife, Ella. Donald will be lovingly remembered for his kindness and compassion and for the love he had for his family.

Left to remember, cherish and honor Donald's love and legacy, besides his wife, Ella of 31 years are his step children, Donald Layton Jr. of Ledyard and his former wife, Louise Layton of Plymouth, Stanley Layton and his wife, Fran of Wolcott, William "Billy" Layton and his wife, Rowena of Torrington as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his two stepsons, Bruce and Steven Layton

Due to the current COVID-19 restriction s private graveside service for Mr. Fleming will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown at the convenience of the family.
