AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Donald B. Josvanger age 86 of Nova Scotia Hill Road, Watertown, died Tuesday at Saint Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widow of Ruth A. (Labeck) Josvanger.
Donald was born November 6, 1922 in Decorah, Iowa a son of the late Benjamin and Dabney Josvanger and lived in Watertown since 1943. He was a graduate of Decorah High School Class of 1939. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed at the Siemon Company where he worked as a machine operator. He also worked for the Town of Watertown Department of Public Works for several years. Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was a charter member of V.F.W. Post 5157 in Watertown and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of Saint Mary's Russian Orthodox Church in Waterbury.
He leaves a son Robert Josvanger of Watertown, several nieces and nephews and his extended family including Veronica and Louise Gill, both of Watertown. He was predeceased by two sons Michael and Rev. Donald Josvanger and four sisters.
Funeral Saturday at 10 a.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville to Saint Mary's Russian Orthodox Church for services at 11. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Russian Orthodox Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until leaving for church.
