THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF DONALD M. STACK
WATERBURY - Donald M. Stack, age 87 of Waterbury, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Lois (Carbon) Stack and the late Lucille (DelNegro) Stack.
Don was born in Waterbury on April 10, 1931, the son of the late Thomas and Anna (Bowen) Stack. He was a graduate of Croft High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having proudly served his country as a First Class Yoeman. Don worked for CL&P/ Northeast Utilities as a Supervisor in the Meter Division for over 37 years. He also worked at JC Vending and Frankies. Don was the consummate Irish gentleman with always more than one story to share with you, as he was born with the true "gift of gab". He enjoyed model RC airplanes, traveling, especially to Arizona to visit with Peter and Donna and celebrating many family functions, especially St Patricks Day. Don was also fond of traveling to Delaware with his friends, Augie, Laura, Tony and Jackie and he loved to cook for his family and not just cook but take care of every last detail making every family meal a gourmet event. He was a member of the Waterbury Elks Lodge # BPOE 265. Don was always fond of saying that he was blessed in life to have two great wives to care for him. He was parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Don will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Don is survived by his children, daughter, Donna Caiazzo and her husband, Peter of Middlebury, sons, Mark and his wife, Sharmela and David and his fiancé, Kimberly St Jarre, all of Waterbury. He also leaves his grandchildren; Rachel, Andrew, Luke and Jenna, his brothers, Martin and Richard Stack and his sister, Barbara Daddona as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Odea.
Funeral services for Mr. Stack will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Don's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
