WATERBURY - Doris Cecile (Boucher) Blinstrubas, 90, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter G. Blinstrubas for 60 years.
Doris was born on October 14, 1929 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Arthur and Sarah (Dugre) Boucher. She was a graduate of Wilby High School. Although Doris' love for her family and raising her five daughters was her number one priority, she was also a proud member of the Knights of Lithuania for over 60 years and was a 4th Degree Knight. Doris was also a long-time member of the Ladies Guild of St. Leo the Great Church and served on the Membership Committee for many years. In addition, Doris was a former member of Les Dames de Ste. Anne. She bowled on a league with Walter at St. Joseph's bowling alley for many years, was a championship roller skater in her earlier years, loved playing Bingo at St. Leo's church hall and was a big UConn women's basketball fan. One of her most favorite things to do every week was to spend a day shopping and going to lunch with her sisters, Rita and Dorothy. For 20 years, Doris spent the winter months in Florida with her husband after his retirement. Summer vacations would be spent at Lake Champlain in Vermont, going to Cape Cod or the Jersey Shore. Growing up, Doris also loved traveling to Canada to visit her relatives.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her love and legacy are her four daughters, Janet Williams of Oxford, Nancy (Joseph) Dennis of Wolcott, Mary Blinstrubas of Newtown and Judith Vecchitto of Waterbury, her three brothers Raymond, Roger (Denise) and Andrew (Janet) Boucher and two sisters Rita (Roland) Dupre and Dorothy Cantillon and sisters-in-law, Sandra (Maurice) Boucher and Monique Boucher; four grandchildren, Gina, Patrick, Sean and Tony, her granddaughter-in-law, Synee, and her four great-grandchildren, Jalen, Reece, Francine and Aubrey, along with many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two of her brothers, Camille and Maurice Boucher, her beloved daughter, Cathy Blinstrubas, and cherished grandson, Francis Vecchitto III.
