WATERBURY, CT - Mrs. Doris S. Doran age 90 of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday August 15th at the Paradigm Health Care Center of Prospect after a brief illness. She was the widow of Henry Doran.
Doris was born January 7th 1925 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Dennis and Katherine (Sugrue) Rice. Doris was a lifelong resident of Waterbury who was educated in local schools. Prior to her retirement in 1981, she spent many years working as an Inspector for United Technologies. Doris was a diehard UCONN Women's Basketball fan and an avid sports fan in general and enjoyed bowling. She was a parishioner of Saint Francis Xavier Church.
Among her survivors are he sons, Dennis Doran and his wife, Kathleen of Southington, Patrick Doran and his lifelong friend, Brigitte of Watertown, her grandchildren, David and Keith Doran. She is predeceased by her brother, Francis Sugrue and sisters, Mary Selover and Sister Catherine Sugrue.
Funeral services for Mrs. Doran will be held on Saturday August 22, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St., Waterbury when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
