OAKVILLE - Dorothy Helen "Dottie" Baril age 92 of Oakville, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, May 26th 2019. She was the widow of Ralph Baril Jr.
Dottie was born February 20, 1927 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late John and Vera (Karabach) Lukachevich. She was a lifelong Oakville resident and attended local schools and spent many years working as an executive secretary at Carrington Company until her retirement in 2002 at the age of 75. She enjoyed traveling worldwide, especially trips to Aruba with her husband. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and UCONN Women basketball fan and enjoyed playing blackjack and the slots and was an active and long time member of the Knights of Lithuania. What brought the greatest joy to Dottie was spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Among her survivors are her children; David Baril and his wife, Marianne of Woodbridge, and Nancy Rupenski and her husband, Victor of Wolcott. In addition, she leaves her grandchildren; Stefanie Baril, Daniel Rupenski and his wife, Kayla, Melissa Fischer, Michele Rupenski and her fiancé, Franklin Hinson and her great grandchildren; Lucille, Daniel, Carmella, Abigail, Oliver, Tyler and Ethan as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. She was predeceased by her brother, Alexander Lukachevich, and sisters Sophie Gronowski, and Mary Malison.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Baril will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St. Oakville, CT 06779 followed by burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Dottie's family on Sunday evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
