AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME
OAKVILLE - Dorothy Becker age 89, of North St. Oakville, died peacefully Friday, January 13th 2012 surrounded by her loving family at the Aurora Senior Living Center at Bucks Hill in Waterbury after a brief illness. She was the widow of Willard Becker.

Mrs. Becker was born in Oakville on May 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Gauvin) Cutler. She was a lifelong resident of Oakville and worked as an inspector at the Pin Shop for several years before becoming a loving and dedicated homemaker and raising her three children. Dorothy was an avid bowler and was a member of the Thomaston Lanes bowling league and was a very talented swimmer and ice skater in her younger years. She was an avid animal lover and would be known to take in sick and stray neighborhood animals and nurse them back to health. Dorothy also enjoyed gardening, and reading and was a member of Saint Mary Magdalen Church.

Among her survivors are her three children, Robert Becker and his wife Patricia of Oakville, Bonnie Famiglietti and her husband Anthony of Oakville, Arline Theon and her husband Bart of Cheshire, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

The Becker family would like to thank the Masonicare Home Health and Hospice Services of Wallingford and the staff of the Aurora Senior Living Center of Bucks Hill in Waterbury for the loving care and support they provided to Dorothy and her family during her illness.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday January 28th at 11:00 a,m. at Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 45 Buckingham Street Oakville. Those planning on attending are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery (North St) Watertown. The O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville has been entrusted to assist the family with the arrangements.
