WATERBURY– Dorothy Grimshaw, age 96, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at the Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck. She was the widow of Antone “Tony” Grimshaw.

Dorothy was born May 2, 1927, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Theodore and Laura (Hart) Martin. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and spent many years working as a bench worker in several area manufacturing companies. Having no children of her own, Dorothy loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews. She was always a faithful confidant to them, and they have many fond memories of special times with their aunt, especially the outings to the movies. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her late husband Tony, especially trips to MA and VT. Dorothy also enjoy spending time with her sister Betty at the salon, getting their hair done and then going out to lunch. She will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know and love her. Our Aunt Dorothy, gladly accepted her nieces and nephews with great love as children of her own.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, are her nieces and nephews; Edward and his wife, Doreen, Shawn, and Marybeth Flanigan, Richard Martin, Jennifer Bard and Randy Corsi, David Martin and Janett Olivie, Scott and his wife Monique, and Laura Martin and Juan Garcia. She also leaves her great nieces and nephews Samantha Kennedy her husband Mike, Raymond Bard, Antonio Almeida, JJ Garcia, Meara, Lucas Zachary, and Abigail Martin. She is predeceased by her siblings; Eugene Martin, Mary “Betty” Flanigan, and her husband Edward, Theodore Martin, and his wife Nancy.

A Graveside Committal Service for Mrs. Grimshaw will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm at All Saints Cemetery, Spring Lake Rd Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
