AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
Waterbury - Mrs. Dorothy E. Santos age 75 of Twining Ave Waterbury, died peacefully at Mid State Medical Center on Friday April 27th surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was the wife of Alfred Santos.
Mrs. Santos was born March 1st 1937 in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Claira (Charrette) Michaud. Dorothy's father died when she was three her mother remarried and her step father Richard Labbe played an important role in her upbringing. She attended local schools and was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church. Dorothy enjoyed playing board games, cards, and Bingo, as well as watching television game shows especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with her husband every night and their two dogs, Molly and Toby. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker who always put her family first. She enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her family on many camping trips and was always happiest when she was surrounded by her family especially her husband, children and grandchildren.
Besides her husband Alfred of 51 years, Dorothy is survived by her two sons Alfred Santos Jr. and Paul Santos both of Waterbury, her three daughters Deborah Szarzynski and her husband Mark, of Effort PA., Patricia Padua and her late husband Ralph of Woodbury; and Kim Marie Olan and her husband Alcides of Waterbury as well as 12 grandchildren. She also leaves her brothers Philip, Peter, and Bobby and the late Mary, Paul, Madeliene, Joseph, Henry, John, Anne, and Carliene. She also leaves behind her step siblings; Rella, Mary, Nadine, Gloria, Virginia, and the late Eugene, Stella , Richard, and Rodney.
Funeral services for Mrs. Santos will be held on Tuesday May 1st, 2012 at 10:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main Street Waterbury CT. to Saints Peter and Paul church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 till 8:00pm.
