WATERBURY - Dorothy Elizabeth (Scanlon) Tortorici age 72 passed away on Sunday
September 3, 2017 at the Vitas Unit of St. Marys Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones
after a valiant battle with cancer.
Ms. Tortorici was born on July 10, 1945 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late William
Scanlon and Madeline (Rinaldi) Michaud. She was educated in local schools and was
employed at both Anchor Fastners and Crescent Manor before retiring. She was a loyal
hard worker all of her life and she donated to various causes and charities during her
lifetime. Dorothy will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Scanlon, her two grandsons; Justin and Rico
Scanlon, three brothers; Robert Michaud, Frank Antunes and William Scanlon, two
sisters; Theresa (Greco) Descault and Rose Dellarose and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Tina Rinaldi.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Tortorici will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 3:30
p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd
Waterbury CT. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends
may visit with Dorothy's family on Sunday from 2:00 till the service at 3:30 pm at the
funeral home. To honor Dorothy's memory donations may be made to the St. Judes
Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Parkway, Memphis TN 38105.
