WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Dorothy S. Whitehouse, age 66, announce her passing on Saturday October 26, 2024, at Mattatuck Health Care in Waterbury. Dorothy was born on December 10, 1958, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late James Whitehouse and Florence Kimmer. 

Dorothy remained a cherished member of the community throughout her life, she was very religious and kept her strong faith and loved reading the bible. Dorothy was an avid reader, loved doing artwork and was a huge animal lover, especially horses. She also enjoyed horseback riding and spelling bees, which she was a proud winner in various spelling bee competitions. Despite facing challenges in her health, Dorothy’s spirit was always bright, bringing joy to those around her.

Left to cherish and honor Dorothy’s memories are her daughter, Rebecca Whitehouse, her sister; Brandi Whitehouse Small of Blairsville, GA, her half-sister; Lenea App of New Rochelle New York and her brother, Gordon Whitehouse of Waterbury, CT. Dorothy is predeceased by her adopted parents, Grace and Gordon Whitehouse and her brothers Charles and James Whitehouse.

Dorothy's positivity and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved and treasured by many.
