THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF DOUGLAS E. RAYMOND
Douglas Edward Raymond, 75, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 2013, formerly of Oakville, CT, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 in Fort Myers. He was born February 16, 1945 in Waterbury, CT to George and Ann Raymond, now deceased. He was predeceased by his wife, Sue E. (Wood) (Schuren) Raymond and stepson Robert Charles Schuren Jr.
Douglas was a veteran of the United States Army. He grew up in Waterbury and graduated Croft High School in 1963. He worked for Reymond Bakery/Hostess for 38 years before retiring and sharing his time between Connecticut and Florida. He was a member and Treasurer of Teamsters Retirees Local 677. Douglas was an avid golfer, an enthusiastic Red Sox fan, and loved dogs, especially Amanda and David's chocolate lab, Shiloh.
He is survived by two loving children, Karen Bradshaw (Brian) of Southington, CT, and Michelle Konopka (Michael), also of Southington, CT; five siblings, Dawn Ariola (John) of Norton, MA, David Raymond (Barbara) of Weston, VT, Donald Raymond (Linda) of Fort Myers, Dennis Raymond (Gail) of Wolcott, CT, and Duane Raymond (Angelita) of California City, CA; and his former wife and mother of his children, Carolyn Beadle of Southington. Douglas and Carolyn were blessed with four grandchildren, Amanda (Rupf) Heckelman (David), Sydney Bradshaw, Allison Bradshaw, and Abbygale Konopka. He also leaves behind a stepdaughter, Carie Rupf, and two step grandchildren, Kyle Lloyd, and Robert Rupf Jr.; as well as his former wife, Carolyn Beadle of Southington, CT.
