OAKVILLE - E "JoAnne" (Jefferson) Mitchell, age 74 of Oakville, passed away on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Hartford Hospital after an extended illness. She was the devoted wife of Roger Mitchell.
Joanne was born on April 8, 1943 in Milford DE the daughter of the late Marshall Jefferson and Ann Jefferson-Ouellette. She was affiliated with Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury and served for many years as the Mathematics Director. She was a longtime resident of Oakville, a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church and a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Besides her devoted husband of 50 years, Joanne leaves her children, Joe Mitchell of Oakville and Miriam Mitchell of Deltona FL, her grandchildren; Tabitha Mitchell, Cheyenne Decelles and Ashley France and great grandson Oliver France. She also leaves her step siblings; Ken Ouellette and Nancy Menafee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mitchell will be private and held at the convenience of her family. The O'Neill Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
