FARMINGTON- Edith Mae (Burke) Maloney age, 82 of Scott Swamp Rd Farmington, died Sunday at her home after an extended illness. She was the widow of Ralph Maloney.
Mrs. Maloney was born in Waterbury on April 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Patrick and Edith (Phillips) Burke. She was a graduate of Wilby High School
and was employed for many years as an Accountant. She and her husband first lived in Danville California, then Rockville and Olney Maryland and then Westchester Ohio for sixteen years before coming back to Waterbury in 2003. While in Ohio she was an active member of both the Garden Club and China Painters. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Church in Waterbury.
Mrs. Maloney leaves a brother, William Burke of Oakville and many nieces and nephews. Her sister Margaret Burke and brothers Patrick, George and James Burke are deceased.
Funeral services for Mrs. Maloney will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 9:30am from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville to SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Maloney memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 1075 Chase Parkway Waterbury CT 06708.
