WATERBURY - Edmund G. Angell Sr. age 85 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 1, 2019, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, He was the devoted husband of Rose (Benson) Angell for 58 wonderful years.

Mr. Angell was born on June 13, 1934 in Waterbury, the son of the late David Angell Sr..and Edna (Lapointe) Angell Volz, He was educated in local schools and served in the US Navy. Edmund was a driver for Bond Bread and Sunbeam/Reymonds Bakery before he moved inside and worked as a Breakman for many years. Edmund enjoyed playing pool, duckpin bowling and was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially Bill Elliott. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a proud member of the Teamsters Local #677 as well as The International Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers' International Union (BCTGM). Ed was renown for always being on time and was a proud father who instilled many strong traits in his children, teaching them to work hard and spend wisely. Edmund will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to remember, cherish and honor Edmund's love and legacy beside his wife, are his children; Sandy Fitzsimons and her husband, Mark of Wolcott and Lynn A. Lindsay and her husband, Raymond of Terryville and Edmund G. Angell Jr of Waterbury. He also leaves his brothers; John "Jack" Angell and Joseph Volz, sisters; Ann Burleigh-Willey and Joan Thomas and his adoring grandchildren; Justin, Samuel, Hannah and Zachary. And several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin brother, David Angell Jr. and brothers; William Angell Sr. and James Angell Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Angell will be held on Friday, September 6. 2019 at 10:30 a,m, from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT 06705 to Mary Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial with follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury, Relatives and friends may visit with Edmund's family on Thursday from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
