THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF EDNA BOSSIE
WATERBURY - Mrs. Edna M. Bossie, age 93 of Waterbury passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 surrounded by her family at the Cheshire House. She was the widow of Norman Bossie.
Edna was born on April 28, 1927 in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late Levi and Laura (Bailey) Woodin. She graduated from Wilby High School in 1945 and worked at Woolworth's, Eastview Manor and Southbury Training School where she retired in 1994. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Wolcott Chapter, the American Legion Post 165 in Wolcott the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the RedHat Society. Edna loved horses, owls, painting, Elvis, collecting salt and pepper shakers and cookbooks. If she wasn't playing canasta till all hours with her family, watching the Boston Red Sox or Sunday football; you could always find her playing bingo at the nearest bingo hall. The most important thing to Edna however, was her family. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her memory and legacy are her sons; James Bossie of Davenport FL and Edward Bossie of Jupiter FL her seven daughters; Elaine Albert of The Villages, FL, Lynda Markie of Indian Land, SC, Shari Greene of Palm City FL, Patricia LaBonte, Janice Godsil, Denise Rodriguez of Waterbury and Lori Harold of Torrington. She also leaves 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Edna had a very happy and amazing life filled with joy, contentment and an abundance of love for her family. She had many friends and acquaintances who also knew and loved her. She will be in our hearts forever and missed by all. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Bossie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bossie will be held at the convenience of her family. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury.
