THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND SERVING THE FAMILY OF EDWARD C. CREEM
WATERBURY - Edward Cornelius Creem, 89 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness on October 6, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Jeanne (Fagan) Creem.
Ed was born November 3, 1927 in Waterbury, the only child of the late Cornelius and Rose (Grace) Creem. He graduated from Saints Peter and Paul Grammar School and Leavenworth High School in Waterbury and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Second World War. After his service, he worked for the Southern New England Telephone Company for 33 years, until his retirement. He then was associated with the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home for many years. Ed was a lifelong communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Church in Waterbury. He was a member of the Waterbury Elks Lodge and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an avid golfer, playing as often as possible at East Mountain Golf Course, where he once made a hole- in-one. He loved jazz, especially Dixieland, and he often attended local jazz concerts with his wife. Ed loved his family vacations on Cape Cod in the summer and spending Sunday afternoons at Sandy Shores on Lyman's Pond in Wolcott.
In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Ed leaves three sons, David Creem and his wife, Mary Beth of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Edward (Ned) Creem Jr. and his wife, Maureen of Naugatuck, Neil Creem and his fiance, Kathleen Reilly of Waterbury, and one daughter, Catherine Parziale also of Waterbury. Ed is also fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren: Michael, Caitlin, Molly, Jonathan, Kyle, Abigail, James, Daniel Creem, and Olivia Parziale.
Funeral services for Mr Creem will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Ed's family on Tuesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
