THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF EDWARD GRONOWSKI
WATERBURY - Edward L. Gronowski age 64, formerly of Oakville, passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital on Friday, February 22nd surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis that he fought with bravery and strength for 41 years. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Catanzaro) Gronowski.
Ed was born July 26th 1954 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Edward V. and Sophie (Lukachevich) Gronowski. He spent most of his life in the Oakville area, working for The Summit Corporation as a plater and machine operator. He also served as Deputy Sherriff for the Litchfield County Sheriff's Department. Ed was a Jeep enthusiast and enjoyed racing, building, and customizing Jeeps. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Ed will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Besides his wife, Linda of 33 years, Edward is survived by his children; Bill Hayes and his fiance, Tara Weiss of Oakville, and Kelly Hayes of Oakville. In addition, he leaves his siblings; Gary Gronowski and his wife, Halina of Gilbert, AZ and Vikki Girouard and her husband, Rene of Bristol as well as his adored grandchildren, Cody, Alexia, DyLynn, and Ayden in addition to several niece, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.
Funeral services for Mr. Gronowski will be held on Saturday, March 2nd 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 14 Buckingham St Oakville, CT 06779 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
