THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF EDWARD J. GILL JR.
PROSPECT - Edward J. "Buddy" Gill Jr. age 77 of Prospect, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 21, 2018 at MidState Medical Center with his daughter by his side after an extended illness.
Edward was born on December 29, 1940 in Waterbury, the son of the late Edward J. Sr and Marion (Kane) Gill. He was educated in local schools and was employed for many years as an Electrician with the IBEW. Edward enjoyed fishing, playing cards, helped renovate both of his children's homes and was well known for being willing to help anybody at anytime with anything. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a caring, gentle man whose undying love and commitment was to his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a longtime parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Edward leaves his wife, Judith (McQuade) Gill of Wallingford, his children; his son, Edward J "Chip" Gill III and his partner Greg Slimko of Boston MA and his daughter, Christine Bioski-Selvaggi and her husband, Albert of Bristol, her stepson, Ernest Voelkl of Meriden and his stepdaughter, Christina Witham of Manchester and his grandchildren, Travis, Kelsey, Alexander, Rebecca, Nicholas, Haley, Alysa, Carla, Francis and his great grandson, Jason Michael. He also leaves two sisters; Judy Dunn of Waterbury and Frances Geschimsky of Berlin CT.
Funeral Services for Mr. Gill will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St Waterbury CT to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in New St. Josephs Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Edward's family on Saturday morning from 8:00 till the procession leaves for church at the funeral home.
