Waterbury ?" Edward Walter Kiermont, age 77, of Hartley Drive, died Tuesday, May 27th 2008 at Crescent Manor after a brief illness. He was the husband of Lydia (Cantito) Kiermont.
Mr. Kiermont was born April 03, 1931 in Waterbury, the son of the late Peter and Helen Kiermont. He was educated in local schools and served honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Mr. Kiermont was employed as a machinist for American Brass and Ansonia Copper and Brass. He also was the former owner of Globe Cleaners in Watertown.
In addition to his wife of 28 years Mr. Kiermont is survived by his son Kurt Kiermont of Woodbury, his daughter Diane Jauch and her husband Fred of Castle Rock, CO, two stepsons, Ralph Cantito of Waterbury, and Philip Cantito of southington, a step daughter Bernadette Hebert and her husband Jack of Hawaii, a sister Lucille Sosnowski and devoted brother in law John Sosnowski of Waterbury 3 grandchildren, a niece, Judith Miller of Southington, her husband Ron and 2 grandnieces.
A memorial gathering for Mr. Kiermont will be held Thursday evening at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home (1581 E. Main St) from 4:00 ?" 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
