NAUGATUCK- Mr. Edward F. Monahan, age 18, of Dorman Dr. Naugatuck, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, January 12, 2014.
Edward was born September 18, 1995 in Bridgeport, the son of Francis J. Monahan and the late Gina (Caruso) Monahan. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, West Haven and was a student at Southern Connecticut State University. Ed loved camping, outdoor activities of all kinds and cars. He was a dedicated son, brother and nephew and his loving spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Besides his father of Naugatuck, Edward leaves two sisters, Margaret and Meghan Monahan both of Naugatuck, his uncles and aunts; Quinn and Wendy Monahan of Southbury, William Monahan and Erin McCabe of Naugatuck and Donald Caruso of Big Lake Alaska. He also leaves his paternal grandmother Muriel Monahan and many close friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Monahan will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 309 South Main St Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Relatives and friends may visit with Edward's family on Friday evening at Eastside Memorial, a Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd.
