Edward "Ned" Kearney

July 26, 1961 — January 4, 2017

WATERBURY - Edward "Ned" Kearney age 55 of Niskayuna NY, formerly of
Waterbury, died unexpectedly on January 4, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital while visiting
friends in Waterbury.
Ned was born on July 26, 1961 in Waterbury, the son of the late James and Margaret
(Hanlon) Kearney. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School Class of 1980 and worked
at St. Francis Pharmacy during and after high school. He then joined the City of
Waterbury, Park Department where he worked for many years. Later in life, he worked as
a clerk for Walmart in Rhode Island. Ned was an avid car enthusiast, enjoyed pets and
loved spending time at the beach. In spite of his challenges in life and physical tragedies,
he was a devoted father to his two boys, was a valued friend to many and a loving brother
to his three sisters. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and by all who knew and
loved him.
Among his survivors are his sons; Theodore Joseph Kearney and his twin brother,
Edward James Kearney both of Fall River MA, his three sisters; Peggy Kearney of Ft
Meyers FL, Maureen Taub and her husband, Jay of Niskayuna NY and his sister, Trisha
Pacheco and her husband, Raymond of New Milford as well as several nieces, nephews
and cousins. Ned was predeceased by his brother, Jamie.
Funeral Services for Mr. Kearney will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10:00am
at Blessed Sacrament Church 174 Robbins St Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian
Burial. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial
will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Casey's Eastside Memorial
