OAKVILLE - Edward W. Roy, 75, of Oakville, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the husband of the late Bonnie G. (Rizzolo) Roy and the late Karen A. (Arruda) Roy.
Mr. Roy was born on November 25, 1941 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Frank T. and Anna (Bowes) Roy. He worked at the National Die Company in Wolcott for 41 years until his retirement in 2005. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed working around his house and yard. He was a very caring and generous man, always wanting to help others. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, loyalty and devotion. Edward will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Edward leaves his children, his daughter, Robin (Roy) Cocchiola and her boyfriend, Patrick Donnelly of Florida, his three sons, Randy Roy and his wife, Elizabeth of Wolcott, Rickie Roy and his wife, Kathryn of Waterbury and Ryan Roy and his wife, Lisa of Georgia, as well as his stepdaughter, Danielle Spearin of Waterbury. Edward also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many loving friends and relatives who will miss him dearly. Besides his wives, Edward was predeceased by a brother, Francis J. Roy, and stepson, Shawn Spearin. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Hartford Home Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Respecting his wishes, there will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the family's convenience. O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT has been entrusted with Mr. Roy's arrangements.
