Loving Husband Father, Grandfather
WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness that the family of Edwin Del Moral, age 80 of Waterbury, share the news of his peaceful transition in the comfort of his home on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, surrounded by the love and care of his family. He was the devoted husband of Myrna Del Moral.
Edwin was born on February 1st, 1944, in Corozal, Puerto Rico, to the late Raphael and Carmen (Nieves) Del Moral. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and spent many years as an over-the-counter sales representative for the Starbuck and Sprague Lighting Company. Edwin cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He embodied the true essence of what it means to be a proud veteran, a devoted husband, and a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. His greatest achievement in life and the source of greatest pride for Edwin was his loving family. He cherished each and every moment spent with those he loved, especially his wife, children and grandchildren.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory beside his wife Myrna, he leaves his children Hilda Del Moral, Emily Del Moral, his son Edwin, and his wife Denise Del Moral as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Del Moral.
The Del Moral family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at the Harold Leever Center, the Operating Room staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, and the many other departments that contributed to Edwin’s care during his courageous battle with cancer. A special note of thanks goes to the Trinity Health of New England Home Hospice Care Team, whose unwavering support and comfort were invaluable to Edwin and his wife during the most sensitive stages of his journey, particularly Julie and Tammy. The care, compassion, and love shown by everyone involved were pivotal in Edwin’s journey, and words cannot fully convey the depth of their appreciation.
