WOLCOTT: Eileen P Snyder, age 78 of Wolcott, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, December 20, 2014. She was the wife of Earl E. Snyder Sr.
Mrs. Snyder was a leap year baby born on February 29, 1936 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late William J. and Lucy (Foley) Stack. She was educated in local schools and graduated from St Mary's Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse anesthetist at St Mary's Hospital and also worked at various Nursing Homes in the area. Eileen had a great love for dogs and while raising her family established Woodmont Kennels and Grooming. She later returned to Nursing until her retirement. She was an avid reader, accomplished piano and organ player and enjoyed camping and bowling.
Besides her husband Earl of 54 years, Eileen is survived by her children, Mrs. Carol Fonseca of Naugatuck, a son from Waterbury, Mrs. Dianne Richmond of Mt Dora, Florida, William R Snyder of Prospect and four grandsons. She is predeceased by her brother Rev. William J. Stack.
Funeral services for Mrs. Snyder will be held privately at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours.
