OAKVILLE -Elaine M. Begnal, age 67 of Oakville, passed away unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Christopher Begnal Sr.
Elaine was born December 8th 1948 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late George and Lucille (Cronk) LaCombe. She was a graduate of Kaynor Technical High School worked as a 911 dispatcher for the Watertown Police Department for several years. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing, crocheting and playing bingo at the VFW. She was a parishioner of Saint Mary Magdalen Church.
Besides her husband Christopher of 48 years, Elaine is survived by her children, Christopher Begnal Jr and his wife Amy of Terryville, and Gayle Bussert and her husband, Daniel of Maricopa, AZ, as well as her granddaughters, Ayla and Abigail in addition to several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Begnal will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church at 9:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Interment will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Elaine's family on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 till 5:00 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville.
