WOODBURY - Mrs. Elaine Marie (Smikle) Capobianco, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the beloved wife of Rocco "Rocky" Capobianco.
Elaine was born September 18, 1945 in South Dakota, the daughter of the late Richard Smikle and Dorothy (Cooke) Smikle of Waterbury. She attended Wilby High School and retired from Heminway and Bartlet, of Watertown, after 25 years of employment. Elaine's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was very active at the First Congregational Church of Waterbury where she was a member of the Board of Deacons and involved in several church activities. Elaine's family would like to thank Dr. Kert Sabbath and the entire staff at the Leever Center as well as Bridgette from the VNA of Waterbury for the wonderful care and love they shared with Elaine throughout her illness.
Elaine leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving husband, Rocky; her mother, Dorothy; her two daughters, Dana Silva and her husband Jesse of Southbury and Lisa Daunis and her husband Derek of Watertown; her sister, Patricia Perillo of Waterbury; and her loving and devoted grandchildren, Dana, Andrew, and Madisyn.
A Memorial service, in celebration of her life, will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the First Congregational Church 222 West Main St Waterbury at 5:30p.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Elaine's memory may be made to The Harold Leever Center of Greater Waterbury 1075 Chase Parkway Waterbury CT 06708.
