THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF ELAINE LAVORGNA
"A woman of great faith"
WATERBURY - Elaine E. (Lipnicki) Lavorgna, age 89, of Waterbury CT, passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2020, surrounded by loved ones. She was the widow of Dante (Danny) Lavorgna.
Elaine was born February 6th 1931 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Nicholas Lipnicki and Frances (Thomasunis) Lipnicki. Elaine was a longtime parishioner of St. Frances Xavier Church. Her faith was very important to her and she was an associate member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, a member of the VFW Auxiliary as well as a member of the Legion of Mary. The most important thing to Elaine in life, was her family. Elaine and her husband Danny were avid golfers, fans of the NY Yankees and the UConn Huskies girl's basketball team. They enjoyed cooking, traveling and baking together, listening to music and dancing. Elaine was always so proud of her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed embroidery and needle work. Elaine had an unparallel spirit of generosity and she was always an optimist when faced with difficulties. Her faith and love of God was enormous and she will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her love and memory, is her daughter, Linda and her granddaughter, Ana. Elaine is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters; Adele Purdy (Ed), Margaret Podzunas (Albie), Alberta Grochowski (Stanley) and Mildred Laflamme (Sonny).
Elaine's family would like to acknowledge and offer their personal appreciation and thanks to all of the staff at Vitas Hospice Heath Care and the personal and professional healthcare workers who attended to Elaine at the end of her life. A very special thanks to Lisa Accousti.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lavorgna will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday July 27, 2020 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St. Waterbury.
