WATERBURY - Ms. Elba Rosario, age 68 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at home, on Friday evening, February 17, 2017.
Elba was born June 29, 1948 in Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Martin and Minerva (Cebollero) Rosario. She held an Associates Degree in Nursing and worked for many years as a Registered Nurse in Long Island, NY. Elba was devoted to her family and to her church and was a Deacon at Nea Zoe Church in Waterbury. On behalf of Nea Zoe, she met the spiritual needs for the homeless at the CHD Hospitality Center in Waterbury. She was a generous person and she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Elba leaves her children, son, Rev Paul Fontanez and his wife, Brenda of Middlebury and her daughter, Monika Fontanez of Waterbury, her grandchildren, Jordan, Gabrielle, Julia, Joshua, Briana, Amaris and Ariel, 8 brothers and 1 sister and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit with Elba's family on Wednesday at the church, viewing from 5:00 till 7:00pm, a Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm Nea Zoe / Mill Plain Union Church, Southmayd Rd in Waterbury. An additional service for Ms. Rosario will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the church with the burial to follow, in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
