Devoted wife, mother and grandmother
WATERBURY - On the morning of Wednesday, December 14, 2022, the Lord lifted Eleanor Conklin Fazzino into his warm embrace. Eleanor was the beloved wife and best friend to her husband, Chester for 66 years. She was also the most loving, supportive, and generous mother any child could ever imagine.
Eleanor attended Notre Dame Academy and graduated from Crosby High School. She worked at SNET where she met so many of the friends she had for life. Later in life, Eleanor worked and laughed at Kelly Energy Systems. Eleanor loved to spread joy with her quick humor and her baking! She was known to bake through December in order to share trays of delicious Christmas cookies to all her friends and neighbors. She did the same at Easter time giving loaves of egg bread and pans of pizza chiena to so many. Eleanor was a longtime parishioner at Saint Peter and Paul Church. She was active in the Madonna Guild and the Christmas Bazaar. Eleanor loved reading, playing cards with friends, vacationing at the Cape, and visiting casinos. She worked and laughed a lot at Kelly Energy Systems for several years. She never missed a field trip, ball game, or gymnastics meet. Actually, she never missed a thing, but she will be deeply missed. I love you, a bushel and a peck., you bet your pretty neck I do!!!
Besides her husband of 66 years, Eleanor leaves her most treasured possessions … her children; Joseph (Valerie) Fazzino, David (Lynn) Fazzino, John Fazzino, and Cathleen (Robert) Flaherty, in addition to several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and great nieces. She also leaves a brother, Warren (Susan) Conklin. She was predeceased by her son Matthew and so many good, good friends.
The Fazzino family would like to acknowledge and offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff at both The Summit of Plantsville and the New Britain General Hospital Hospice Team for the love and care they shared with their Mom and the entire family.
