AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Waterbury ?" Eleanor A. McGrath age 87 of 2221 East Main St Waterbury died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday September 29th. She was the widow of James J. McGrath Sr.
Mrs. McGrath was born June 14th 1922 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Anna (Jones) Dee. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High as well as Post Secretarial School and worked along side her husband at their distributing company, J.P. McGrath Distributors for many years. They also owned and operated Pierpont Liquors for many years before their retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family especially their trips to Ireland where she would look up her family's heritage but most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her grandson.
Among her survivors are her son James P. McGrath and his wife Norma of Prospect and her grandson James J. McGrath II. She is predeceased by her sisters Lucille Dee Cannon, and Nancy Dee.
Services for Mrs. McGrath will be held Friday October 2nd 10:00 a.m. from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury to St Anthony's Church 4 Union City rd Prospect for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will be held in Saint James Cemetery Naugatuck. Visiting hours for Mrs. McGrath are scheduled for Friday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
