AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - WATERBURY Plantsville Eleanor A. O'Brien, age 71, of Plantsville formerly of Waterbury died Thursday at the Alzheimers Resource Center after an extended illness.
Ms. O'Brien was born on October 22, 1938 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Martha (Daly) O'Brien. A longtime resident of Waterbury's East End, Eleanor was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and was employed for many years as a computer programmer at Aetna Insurance and had lived in the Hartford/Bloomfield area for the past 25 years. While in Waterbury, she was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church. Eleanor's family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of the Alzheimers Resource Center in Plantsville, especially; Debbie, Linda and Sherrie for the loving care and support they shared with Eleanor throughout her stay there.
Eleanor is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her close cousins, Mary Manko, Velma Randall, Dr. Ray Keefe and Claire Brennan.
Funeral services for Ms. O'Brien will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 11:30am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury to SS Peter& Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:30- 11:30am.
