OAKVILLE - Elizabeth "Betty"(Kelly) Pappineau age 86 of Oakville, passed away peacefully at Apple Rehabilitation Center in Watertown on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 after a brief illness. She was the widow of Raymond Pappineau.
Betty was born December 11th 1930 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (McGivney) Kelly. She grew up in Waterbury and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Betty was a devout Catholic and was proud of her direct lineage to the late Father Michael J. McGivney, the founder of the Knights of Columbus. She was a longtime Oakville resident and parishioner of Saint Mary Magdalen Church. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. Betty enjoyed baking, cooking, spending time with her family and watching the UConn women's basketball team. She was a parishioner of St Mary Magdalen Church for many years.
Betty is survived by her children; Barbra Jarvis and her husband, Glenn of Watertown, Steven Pappineau with whom she made her home of Oakville, Roger Pappineau and his wife, Dawn of Thomaston, her brother, Francis Kelly of Waterbury and her sister, Suzanne Baker of Wolcott. She also leaves her grandchildren; Katie Jarvis and her husband, Ranjan and Michelle Jarvis and her husband, Matthew, Roger Jr., Michael, Elisa, Thomas and Sara Pappineau. She was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret, Thomas, James, John, and Joseph Kelly.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pappineau will be held on Monday June 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church 16 Buckingham St. Oakville, CT. Burial will follow in New Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Betty's family on Monday morning from 9:00 till 10:30a.m. at The O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville .
