Waterbury - Ms. Elizabeth J. Kernan, age 96, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 5th 2012 at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center after an extended illness.
Mrs. Kernan was born in Hurlford, Scotland the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Lang) Kernan. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Scovill Manufacturing and Torrington Supply for many years before her retirement.
Among her survivors are her nephew James Kernan, of Middlebury; and her Niece Barbara Higgins, of Boynton Beach, Florida
Funeral services for Mrs. Kernan will be held on Wednesday, May 9th, 2012 at 10:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705. To Saints Peter and Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00am to 10:00 a.m. In grateful appreciation for the care provided to Elizabeth donations may be made to The Abbott Terrace Recreational Fund at 44 Abbott Terrace Waterbury, CT 06702.
