AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
Waterbury, CT. Mrs. Elizabeth Ann (Fitzpatrick) Mozdy age 87, of Ridgefield Ave Waterbury, died Friday morning at the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of George Mozdy.
Mrs. Mozdy was born March 10, 1925 in New Haven daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Breen) Fitzpatrick. She attended Waterbury Catholic High and worked as an assembler at Scovill manufacturing and as a sales associate at Worth's Department store.
She was a longtime parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing bingo. She had a special interest for wildlife especially birds.
Mrs. Mozdy is survived by her son, Kevin of Waterbury and a sister, Irene Liquorie of Whitestone NY as well as two grandchildren Matthew and Jehna Kemp and their father, her son-in-law Kenneth Kemp of Prospect. as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sadly, Mrs. Mozdy was pre-deceased by her daughter, Karen Kemp just 4 months ago.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all of the staff and caregivers at Paradigm Health Care Center of Prospect for the exceptional care and attention they provided to Elizabeth over the past 12 years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mozdy will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 10:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 till 7:00pm.
