WATERBURY - Ellen P. Batters age 84 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on February 18th 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Batters Sr.
Ellen was born June 30th 1936 in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late Rheinhold and Edith French (Passeck). Ellen was raised in Naugatuck and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School Class of 1954, where she was active in both the Rifle Team and gymnastics. Ellen began working at the Bristol Co in 1965 and worked there until she left to be a full time Mom and homemaker in 1975. Ellen had the great fortune of a simple but full life and was always there for her husband and family. She enjoyed traveling the world with Bob but was just as happy watching the wildlife from her back porch. Ellen was actively involved with the Waterbury Deep Sea Fishing Club and the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) and was also a member of the Waterbury Elks Club # 265
Left to honor and cherish Ellen's love and legacy, besides her husband, Robert Sr. of 60 years, is her son, Robert "Andy" Batters Jr. of Waterbury, her grandson, Dean Batters and his wife Alissa and her precious, great granddaughter, Mia Batters. She also leaves her sister, Sandy Robinson and her husband Donald, her sister-in-law, Judith Passeck, nephews; Jeff and Peter Passeck, Frankie and Tony Robinson and nieces; Ellen and Amy Robinson.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Batters will be held on Thursday, February 25th 2021 at 12:00 noon at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends may visit the Batters family at a walk-through visitation on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck at the convenience of her family. All requirements concerning COVID #19 will be strictly enforced.
