IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS THAT WE REPORT THE PASSING OF BOTH MRS ELNORA YOLANDA WALTON on NOVEMBER 3, 2020 in CINCINATI OH AND HER DAUGHTER, VIRGINIA ECKLIN THE FOLLOWING DAY.

A JOINT MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR BOTH MOM AND DAUGHTER WILL BE HELD SOON

Cincinnati OH - Elnora Walton age 82, formerly of Waterbury passed away peacefully in Cincinnati OH after a brief illness, just the day before her daughter, Virginia Ecklin. Elnora (Noni) Walton born Elnora Ecklin, daughter of the late Virginia Fountain and Nathaniel Ecklin was born May 4, 1938 in Norfolk, VA. She was the widow of the late Calvin S. "Billy Preston" Walton. Elnora attended the New York public school system and then proceeded to pursue her passion for Hairdressing. She then moved and settled into Waterbury, Ct in 1954. At an early age, she was very creative and developed a passion for styling hair. Noni had an entrepreneurial spirit and grew a large clientele from within her community and church.
Elnora was born on May 4, 1938. Elnora met her first husband the late Rodrick Thomas in 1954 upon moving to CT and this union was blessed with 5 beautiful children. The late Virginia (BooteStyle) Ecklin, Deborah Green, the late Rodrick Thomas, Anthony Thomas, and the late Brenda Notice.
In 1968, Elnora met the love of her life Calvin S. Walton and had their loving son the late Calvin K. Walton. Together they raised Asa Walton, Sevic Walton and their oldest grandchild Stephanie Ecklin. During this time, she worked at Torrington Special Products until she retired after 10 years. After which she pursued a career in nursing and worked at Connecticut Valley Hospital until she was injured and forced into early retirement. Elnora had a big heart for helping others as she received her certification in Fostering and went on to foster many children in the system. Noni always had a love for the Lord, and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. Noni and the love of her life "Billy Preston" lived a happy life together for over 50 years. Together they loved traveling, family gatherings, playing cards with her good friends (Doreen and Dee) and most of all watching and being around their kids and grandkids. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished.

She leaves behind her daughter, Deborah Bradford of Orlando, FL and three sons, Anthony Thomas (Carolyn) of Cincinnati, OH, Asa and Sevic Walton, a son-in-law Stephen Notice, two step-sons, Steven Parker and Bernard Riddick, two siblings, Nathaniel (Sonny) Ecklin of Waterbury, CT and Tonya Gibson of Virginia Beach, VA, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great, great children and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Elnora is predeceased by her four children; Virginia, Roderick, Brenda, Calvin, her sister Jacqueline, her mother Virginia (Moma) and her father Nathaniel

Joint Funeral Services for Mrs Walton and her daughter, Virginia, will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will be held at the convenience of her family. A walk-through visitation for the general public will be held on Saturday from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. All guidelines currently in effect will be strictly enforced.
