WATERBURY - Elton Lee Goodman, Jr. 44 of New Britain unexpectedly departed this life November 30, 2024.Elt was born September 2, 1980 in Waterbury to the late Mary Francis Goodman and Elton LeeGoodman, Sr. Elt a native of Waterbury, CT moved to Hartford as an adolescent and attendedHartford public schools. As a child he loved to play basketball, football and video games, alwayssmiling and cracking jokes.
Elt, an avid Eagles fan and employee of Whole Foods leaves to mourn father Elder EltonGoodman Sr. (Marion), a daughter; Nyasha Goodman (Taylor), five sisters; Leona (Nakie),Consandra (Lady), Malena (Lanna) Depugh, Nikita McClenney and Carina Goodman, twobrothers; Jamar (Mar) Goodman and Andrew Depugh, four nieces; Malene and LaquqnnaThompson, Samaiyah Pipkin and Kybrea Hales, six nephews, Derrick Britt, Donte Goodman,Gawayne Fisher, Dwight Francis, Daniel Mobley and Lorenzo Mitchell, special cousin DwayneMiles, two step-children; Jahkii and Jazlynn Hilyard, and fiance Brie Hilyard.
Elt, a loving father, brother and son was always full of humor and had an affectionate smile thatwould light up the room. Elt loved his family and friends wholeheartedly, was loyal, never being selfish, willing to give you any and everything including the shirt off his back.
Upon moving to C.O.T, Elt found an extended family through friends who became his “Brothers from another Mother”. These brothers embodied the true meaning of the saying, “I am my brother's keeper”, and their bond was a testament to loyalty and love. Elt always had their backs and his generous heart and great spirit touched everyone he met. Elt was love and his legacy of kindness and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.Elt was predeceased by his mother Mary Francis Goodman, grandparents, Edward Depugh,Loretta Cross, Cleophus, Sr. and Bertha Goodman, aunts, Patricia and Barbara Depugh,uncles, Russell Goodman and Edward Depugh, cousins, Shanyai and Jasmine Dancy. Eltleaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him terribly.
Funeral services for Mr. Goodman Jr. will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at New Bethel Church of God in Christ, 46 Cooke Street, Waterbury, CT. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit with Elton's family on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
