AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Emil F. Julian, age 90, of Russell Ave. Oakville ,died peacefully Monday evening at Abbott Terrace Healthcare in Waterbury with his loving family at his side. He was the husband of the late Natalie (Caterino) Julian who passed in 2004.
Emil was born in Oakville on October 27, 1919 the son of Samuel and Nancy (Avelloni) Julian, He attended local schools and was a lifelong Oakville resident. In his younger years he was an accomplished baseball player and loved the game. He was a foreman at Seymour Smith in Watertown and retired after many years of service. Emil was an avid golfer and member of the Senior league at Crestbrook Golf Course. He was always tinkering or fixing with something and was affectionately known as "Mr. Fixit". Emil was a kind and generous person always willing to help anyone in need and he was a loving, husband, father and grandfather. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church.
Emil is survived by three sons, Daniel and his wife Michelle of Waterbury, Gregory and his wife Nancy of Oakville and Richard and his wife Joanne also of Oakville. He also leaves 5 adoring grandchildren, Summer Louis, Carime Bruce, Ashley Julian, Brittany Julian and Nicole Julian and one great granddaughter, Maya Louis. He was predeceased by his 5 siblings, Domenic, Joseph, Elizabeth, Katherine and Josephine. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Julian will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 10:30am from the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT. to St. Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St., Oakville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery Watertown. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:00 till 10:30am. Memorial donations in Mr. Julian's memory may be made to St. Mary Magdalen, School Building Fund, 145 Buckingham St Oakville CT 06779 or to the Masonicare Hospice Program, 22 Masonic Ave. Wallingford, CT 06492.
