OAKVILLE- Eric Peter Grohoski, age 49, of Hungerford Ave. Oakville, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. He was the husband of Jodi (Radzunas) Grohoski.
Eric was born in Waterbury on June 15, 1959, the son of Franziska (Jenetz) Manuel of Thomaston and the late Benedict Grohoski. He was a graduate of Thomaston High School and was a skilled craftsman and owner/operator of Dream Kitchens in Oakville. He and his family have resided in Oakville for the past 23 years. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville.
Beside his wife of 23 years, Eric is survived by his daughter, Rebecca and sons Jacob, Joshua and Nathan all of Oakville, a brother Constantine Grohoski of Florida, a sister, Heidi Mathewson and her husband Andy and sons Zachary and Noah of St. Thomas US Virgin Island and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his stepfather Thomas Manuel of Thomaston. In addition, Eric leaves his father and mother-in-law, William and Claudette (Nadeau) Radzunas of Oakville, brothers and sisters-in-law; Michael Radzunas of Poway CA, William Radzunas and his wife Carol of Meriden, Jeffrey Radzunas and his wife Veronica of Poway CA, Danny Radzunas and his wife Shannon of Lancaster SC, Rachel and her husband, Vinny Sinopli of Southbury, Matthew Radzunas and his wife Lisa of Terryville, Maryanne Thompson and her husband Donald of Wolcott and Gregory Radzunas, who was not only his brother-in-law but his best friend and his wife Wendy and their children Amanda and Amy of Thomaston.
Funeral services for Eric will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11:00am at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St Oakville CT. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church for 10:45am. Burial will follow in MT Olivet Cemetery Watertown. Friends may visit the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St Oakville on Friday evening from 5-8 pm. A fund has been established to assist Eric's children's.
