WATERBURY - Ernest Robert "Bob" Scott Sr. age 70 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born June 14th 1945 in Pittsfield MA, the son of the late Ernest Rodrick and Mabel Irene (Baumann) Scott. He spent over 17 years working for the Town of Prospect as a heavy equipment operator and he was a member of the Operator and Engineers Union. Most recently, Bob worked for Whibey Construction.
Among his survivors are his children, Bob Scott Jr and his wife, Kathy of McDonough, GA. Annette Bates and her husband, Jason of Waterbury, his sister, Joan Slapikas of Prospect and his five grandchildren; Casey, Ricky, Dillon, Michelle, and Megan as well as his great grandson, Casey Jr. and his three nieces and nephews. Bob's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Vitas Innovative Care and staff at St. Marys Hospital for the care and support they provided to Bob during his illness.
Funeral Services for Mr. Scott will be held on Saturday February 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and relatives may visit with Bob's family at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 ~7:00 pm.
