EUGENE J. HOFFMAN
WATERBURY- Eugene J. Hoffman age 82 of Kaynor Dr. died November 16 at Waterbury Extended Care in Watertown. He was the husband of Shirley J. (Brazee) Hoffman.
Eugene was born March 25, 1926 in Portland, ME a son of the late Leo and Blanche (McNamara) Hoffman and lived in Waterbury since 1943. He was educated in Portland Schools. Prior to his retirement in 2006, Eugene was employed as a driver at Curtin Livery where he worked for 12 years. He was the owner of Townline Agency Realty in Trumbull in the early 70's and had worked as a driver for Valley Transportation for 14 years.
Besides his wife of 35 years of Waterbury, he leaves five sons Dana Hoffman and his wife Cindy of Galaway, NY., Douglas Hoffman and his wife Carole of Lake Placid, NY., Michael Hoffman and his wife Candie of Chester, VA., Eugene Hoffman Jr. of Saranac, NY., Duane Hoffman of CO., two daughters Sandy Taylor and her husband Mike of Pittsfield, MA., Kellie Sheeks of Oakville, Three step children, Jerry Zambiella III and his wife Susan of Watertown, Patti Ann Ciarleglio and her husband Curt of Waterbury, David Zambiella and his wife Deborah of Prospect, a sister Alberta Hern of Williamsburg, PA., a brother Richard McNamara of British Columbia, CA., twenty two grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Charlotte and two brothers Norman and Clifford.
Funeral Wednesday 9 a.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville to Our Lady of Loreto Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
