WATERBURY- Eunice Barringer, age 82 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Watertown Convalarium.
Eunice was born in Waterbury on October 16, 1933 the daughter of the late Franklin and Gertrude (Bradley) Barringer. She was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School. Eunice was a long time employee of W.T. Grant's Department Store in downtown Waterbury and enjoyed shopping, going to the casinos and listening to Johnny Mathis music but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a parishioner of St Francis Xavier Church.
Eunice is survived by her brother, Dewitt Barringer and his wife, Maureen of South Carolina, her sister, Mary Ellen Mansfield and her husband, Morton also of South Carolina and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Eunice was predeceased by her sisters, Eileen Fitzgerald and Jeanne Botelho.
Funeral services for Ms. Barringer will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Eunice's family on Saturday morning from 8:30 till 9:30 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury CT In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eunice's name to Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital, IPU, 56 Franklin Street, 4th Floor, Waterbury, CT 06706.
