WATERBURY- Mr. Eustaquio Prado, age 87 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the widower of Carmen Prado.
Eustaquio was born the youngest of fifteen children on May 25, 1930 in Dorado, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Eustaquio and Petronila (Rentas) Prado. He proudly served his county with the US Army during the Korean War and spent over forty years working for Eastern Company of Naugatuck until his retirement. Eustaquio was a avid sports fan, a diehard UConn Women's basketball and New York Yankees fan, he enjoyed playing softball and he was a talented salsa dancer. What brought the greatest joy to Eustaquio was spending time with his family.
Eustaquio's family would like to thank and acknowledge the doctors and nurses at Waterbury Hospital Medical ICU for the wonderful care and support they provided to him and his family during his illness.
Among his survivors are his sons; Rafael Prado, John Prado and his wife, Jean, his daughter, Carmen Prado, and his sister, Claudina Calderon Prado. He also leaves 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Ana Hilda Prado.
Funeral services for Mr. Prado will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart "Sagrado Corazon" Church, 14 Wolcott Street at 11:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Eustaquio's family at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd on Sunday afternoon from 1:00-3:00 PM.
