SHELTON CT - Eva Macari, age 80, of Shelton passed away peacefully Friday November 22, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle with cancer at Saint Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Ramez Macari.
Eva was born September 22nd 1933 in Shelton, CT the daughter of the late Fred and Susan (Gazley) Anthony. She was educated in local schools and briefly worked as a nurse before dedicating herself to raising her family. Eva was always a compassionate, caring provider and caretaker for her family, she took great pride in everything she did for them whether it was cooking for holiday feasts or simply spending time with them telling jokes and making them smile with her quick witted humor. She enjoyed reading and classical music and loved to travel to Lebanon where she would spend time with her husband's family. She was a member of the Lebanese American Club and a parishioner of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church in Waterbury. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
Among her survivors are her sons; Anthony Macari and his wife Maria of Waterbury, Robert Macari and his wife May of Waterbury, her daughters, Kathy Macari and her husband Fadi of Lebanon, Nancy Macari-Lopez and her husband Alex of Shelton with whom she made her home and Patty Gitani and her husband Paul of Lebanon. She also leaves her brother, John Anthony of CA., her sister, Anna Parkins of Shelton and her grandchildren; Zena, Rami, Tina, Lea, Alyssa, and Anthony as well as many nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, George Anthony and her sister, Elizabeth Horan, and Helen Gosain.
Funeral services for Mrs. Macari will held on Monday, November 25th, 2013 at 9:00am from Eastside Memorial "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER" 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 8 East Mountain Rd. for a Service of Holy Mysteries of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will take place at a later date in Lebanon. Relatives and family may visit with the Macari family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 ~ 6:00pm.
