CHESHIRE – It is with profound sadness that the family of Eva “Dolly” Nabors, age 93, share the news of her peaceful passing at Midstate Medical Center on Thursday, January 30, 2025. She resided at Cevita Care Center at Cheshire since 2020, and was formerly a long-time resident of Prospect. She was formerly married to Lucius “Tony” Anthony.
Dolly was born on June 12, 1931, in Black Mountain, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Joseph Edgar and Sallie (Francis) Nabors. She was a high school graduate and in her adult years attended NVCC. Dolly was employed for many years by the Town of Prospect as an assistant children’s librarian. She started the concept of children’s story hour in public libraries. Dolly greatly enjoyed time with family, cooking, baking, and gardening. She loved music of all types, some of her favorite artists included; Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Isacc Hayes, Johnny Mathis, The Bee Gees, Brass Construction, Grover Washington, and many more. Dolly was a soft-hearted gentle lady who would easily cry with you at times, and laugh with you at other times. There was nothing more important to Dolly than her family and she will always be remembered fondly by all those who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor and cherish her memories are her children Howard Anthony (Tammie) and Robin Anthony Wilson (Darryl). Dolly leaves her beloved grandchildren; Damien Wade (Juanita), Theodore Wade, Corey Wade, Samara Nelson (Craig), Candice Wade, Kayla Anthony, and 6 great grandchildren. She leaves her brother William R. Nabors, and a sister Susan Saunders, along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dolly was predeceased by her children; Valerie Leal, Michael Powell, and Sandra Wade, and her son in law, Theodore Wade.
