AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME ?" Mrs. Evelyn G. (Barberet) Fenn , age 96, formerly of Candee Hill Rd.Oakville, died Thursday at Brandywine Assisted Living Center in Litchfield after an extended illness. She was the widow of Charles M. Fenn who passed in 1998.
Evelyn was born in Oakville, on May 5, 1912, the daughter of the late Jules and Louise (Bilger) Barberet. She graduated from St. John the Evangelist Elementary School and Waterbury Catholic High School. She worked for the State of Connecticut, Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Waterbury for many years. Evelyn was an entirely selfless person, always worried about others rather than herself. Above all else she was a Mom and saw to it that her home was always full of love and caring. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Suzanne and her husband John "Bucky" Burrows of Sandy Utah and Martha's Vineyard MA., her brother Gene Barbaret of Storrs CT and her brother-in-law, Michel Bilger of Watertown. She also leaves two grandsons, Cal Giordano of Juneau AL and Charles Giordano of Marthas Vineyard MA and one great granddaughter Bella Giordano as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fenn will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 10:00am from the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St. Oakville to St. Mary Magdalen Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Watertown. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5 ?" 7 pm.
