AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME
OAKVILLE - Evelyn M. Lackey age 87 of Jenks Street died Tuesday evening at Cook Willow Health Center in Plymouth surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Wilfred Lackey.
Evelyn was born February 10, 1923 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Louis and Minnie (Demske) Vancelette and lived in Thomaston and Oakville most of her life. She was a graduate of Wilby High School. Prior to her retirement in 1974 Evelyn was employed as a bookkeeper in the insurance industry and worked in Waterbury and Watertown. She enjoyed traveling and singing but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She leaves a daughter Susan Salvietti and her husband Michael of Oakville, a sister Eunice Vancelette of Oakville, and four grandchildren, Michael Salvietti of Northfield, Brian Salvietti of Oakville, Charise and Dori Cowles of California. She was predeceased by her grandson James Salvietti and her son Bill Cowles.
Funeral Friday at 10 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown.
